“We have a mystery,” said Turbitt Leach & Crum negligence attorney Kevin M. Leach, as he asked a panel at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit to roll back a ruling of summary judgment in a slip and fall case on behalf of his client against a Virginia Target store. 

Slip and fall cases aren’t often heard at federal appeals courts, but the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, VTLA, piggybacking off of Leach’s case, argued they aren’t getting a fair hearing in district or state courts either.
