A federal judge in D.C. granted a plaintiff’s motion for mistrial Feb. 3 in an age- and race-based discrimination case after the defense produced what the judge called “integral” evidence a week into trial.

U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan of the District of Columbia granted plaintiff Gonzalo Guisbert’s motion for a mistrial, finding that he was prejudiced by the delayed discovery in his lawsuit against his former employer, Washington Convention and Sports Authority, which does business as Events DC.
