The Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined a mattress store more than $66,000 for multiple workplace safety violations, including willfully exposing employees to serious injury or death from potential traffic accidents, the office announced last week.

The penalties against a Hillsboro Mattress Megastore occurred after the division received a confidentially filed complaint. An inspection found that the employer repeatedly and knowingly exposed employees to potential traffic accidents. The employers required its employees to operate a one-ton box delivery truck that was “clearly unsafe,” Oregon OSHA said in a press release.
