A federal judge in the combat earplug lawsuits ordered 3M not to challenge her prior rulings in bankruptcy court, where its subsidiary filed a Chapter 11 case last month citing a multidistrict litigation proceeding “broken beyond repair.”

In its July 26 petition, 3M’s subsidiary, Aearo Technologies, criticized a host of rulings from U.S. District Judge M. Casey Rodgers of the Northern District of Florida, who is overseeing 230,000 claims alleging 3M’s combat earplugs caused hearing loss and ringing of the ears.
