A team of Sidley Austin attorneys reached a $600,000 settlement with Minneapolis on Thursday on behalf of a freelance journalist who sustained a permanent eye injury while covering the protests following the murder of George Floyd.
The journalist, Linda Tirado, is permanently blinded in one eye after at least one officer shot her with a less-lethal projectile as she was photographing the protest on May 29, 2020.
