Former Perkins Coie partner Michael Sussmann was found not guilty on Tuesday of lying to the FBI about his client representations when he shared allegations of possible ties between Donald Trump and Russia ahead of the 2016 election.

A federal jury acquitted Sussmann, a former federal prosecutor and prominent cybersecurity attorney, after about six hours of deliberations. The jury was not convinced by arguments from Special Counsel John Durham that Sussmann lied during a September 2016 meeting with the general counsel of the FBI, James Baker.
