Candidates for state and federal offices in Massachusetts were hoping to move forward with a challenge seeking injunctive relief against the state’s election laws, but a state appellate court has affirmed the Superior Court’s decision to throw out the claim.

Among the candidates who filed suit were Republicans John Paul Moran and Caroline Colarusso, who both ran for the House of Representatives in November 2020. Steven R. Hall ran for state senator of Massachusetts and two others, Craig Valdez and Ingrid Centurion, campaigned for state representative positions. The candidates challenged the state’s recently enacted policies on early and mail-in voting.
