In a 4-2 opinion, the Virginia Supreme Court declined to unseal all of the disciplinary records of a Virginia Beach judge who was suspended following an investigation over potential misconduct in her prior position as chairwoman of the Virginia Parole Board.

But in a dissenting opinion, two justices argued that there was no justification for the records to remain hidden from public view.
