John Cannon, a police officer who graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in August, has filed a complaint against his alma mater alleging discrimination and emotional distress over emails school officials allegedly sent disparaging law enforcement.
The complaint, filed in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois County Department, Law Division on Feb. 9, also names former Dean Darby Dickerson, Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Tania Luma, Assistant Dean for Student Life and Leadership Jennifer Pope and professor Wesley Townsend as defendants.
