Lawyers for former Perkins Coie partner Michael Sussmann accused special counsel John Durham of using “inflammatory and prejudicial rhetoric” in his court filings after a pretrial motion triggered an uproar in right-wing media.

Sussmann’s defense team at Latham & Watkins said in a filing late Monday that Durham has demonstrated a pattern of using court filings to “politicize this case, inflame media coverage and taint the jury pool.”
