The coming year in M&A is shaping up to be a repeat of 2021, experts say, meaning more frenetic dealmaking activity is to come. While pitfalls could arise, it’s quite possible that 2022 could be another $5 trillion year.
“This year has been a blockbuster year for M&A and the overall economic environment remains favorable to continue healthy dealmaking into 2022,” Eric Swedenburg, co-head of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett’s mergers and acquisitions practice, said in an email.
