A company that provides phone services for prison and jail inmates across the country has agreed to pay $67 million to settle a class action accusing it of looting millions of customers’ prepaid accounts of any funds in them if no calls were made for a few months.

On Monday, Global Tel*Link and the plaintiffs’ counsel filed a motion asking a federal judge in Atlanta to approve the settlement, which includes a request for attorney fees of more than $18.4 million.
