As many experts predicted, Big Law firms are starting to back off their October return-to-office dates. What to do next, though, seems to vary from firm to firm. Some have hope for a return this year, while others are delaying until next year. At least one firm has taken a date off the table completely.

Stroock & Stroock & Lavan has opted to target another return date this fall, pushing its slated Oct. 4 return back to Nov. 1. Perkins Coie, meanwhile, has opted to delay a return until next year. The firm told in April that it wanted its attorneys back, on a hybrid basis, by October, and has now pushed that date to January 2022.
