Compared with the early days of Donald Trump’s administration, President Joe Biden has recruited far fewer lawyers from Big Law to fill several top agencies.

And when Biden has selected lawyers from the nation’s highest-grossing law firms, his administration has recruited from a wider variety. The top feeder firms in the first six months of the year for Biden include Latham & Watkins, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton and Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, according to data from Firm Prospects, an organization that tracks attorneys’ moves to government.
