President Joe Biden is primed to announce his first judicial nominations, a list that will show his White House’s initial commitment to making federal courts more diverse.

In the weeks since Biden took office, 41 federal court seats have become available for him to fill as judges announce they’re taking senior status or their seats open up for other reasons. The Biden White House has yet to announce any nominations, in line with the timeline set by prior administrations, but all signs point toward judges coming down the pipeline shortly.
