To require vaccinations before returning to work, or not to require them? That is the question facing many employers today. A majority of organizations will not require their employees to be vaccinated for the novel coronavirus, according to a Gartner report published on Wednesday.

Seventy-one percent of human resources, legal, compliance and privacy leaders surveyed indicated that they plan to encourage employees to get a vaccine, but do not plan on enforcing them to do so. Only 8% of respondents indicated they will require employees to get the vaccine before returning to work. Gartner surveyed 236 human resources, legal, compliance and privacy leaders in December 2020 and January 2021 for the results of this survey.
