Many law departments have begun insourcing e-discovery in order to trim costs associated with tasks such as the collection and review of data. But while the technology necessary to facilitate these processes internally may be readily available, the personnel, funding and internal culture might not be.

Stacie Neeter, managing director at Stout, told the virtual audience that assembled for the “In-House Legal Leaders Discuss: Innovative Techniques for Using Technology to Reduce Legal Spend” virtual panel held during Legalweek(year) 2021 that many organizations were not making use of document review solutions despite the fact that those tools have been around for a long time.
