NEEDLESS THINGS - Among the many important life lessons ’80s hair metal band Cinderella taught us, perhaps the most poignant is that “you don’t know what you got (’til it’s gone).” But if Cinderella was a legal consultancy instead of a rock band (which would be awesome), they might say that, for law firms, you don’t know what you don’t need ’til it’s gone. As the pandemic forced firms to adapt to widescale remote work basically overnight earlier this year, they quickly came to realize how much of what they previously relied on to do business day in and day out is simply no longer necessary, from in-person meetings to large office spaces to certain staff functions.
