The Shift: A Discriminating Recession in Big Law
You don’t see any hint of a 2020 recession looking at the financial performances of elite law firms. Many in the Am Law 50 have given out double bonuses to associates in the last two months, with a combined total payout ranging from $22,500 to $140,000, depending on associates’ seniority. And while the year hasn’t ended, bank surveys project moderate to high revenue and profit growth in the legal industry.
