Wiley Rein announced Oct. 7 that it was creating a chief diversity officer position at the firm, hiring Rashida MacMurry-Abdullah to the new post. Since that time, at least seven other Am Law 200 firms have also announced new C-level or director-level positions around diversity at their respective firms. 

In addition to Wiley, Winston & Strawn (Sylvia James); Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith (Rima Badawiya); Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck (Ali Metzl); Davis Wright Tremaine (Yusuf Zakir); Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo (Narges Kakalia); Armstrong Teasdale (Meshach Rhoades); and Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney (Lloyd Freeman) have all added high-level diversity and inclusion positions in the past four weeks.
