A UC Irvine School of Law professor known for her scholarship in financial inequality is among more than a dozen California academics, government officials and private-sector lawyers named to President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team this week.
As a volunteer, Mehrsa Baradaran will serve on two agency review teams, one focusing on the Department of Treasury and the other looking at the Federal Reserve and financial regulatory agencies. The two sectors are expected to receive fresh scrutiny as Trump administration policies give way to a more regulatory friendly environment under President Joe Biden.
