The Shift: Layoffs Are Spreading Faster, As Some Firms Quietly Cut Ranks
In the spring and early summer, confirmed layoffs at big firms were picking up, mostly at firms outside the Am Law 50. Layoffs and furloughs — affecting both lawyers and staff — were driven by concerns about the unpredictable nature of the pandemic, coupled with an actual drop off in litigation and deals.
