A St. Petersburg criminal defendant has filed an emergency petition with the Florida Supreme Court to delay an in-person criminal trial on Tuesday, citing the third wave of the coronavirus. The case shows the disruption caused by rising cases of the coronavirus within the Florida court system.
And Broward Circuit Chief Judge Jack Tuter, who is not presiding in the case, said the dispute over recommencing live trials is similar throughout the state.
