The chief justice of the Florida Supreme Court on Wednesday issued a video apology to the state’s bar exam takers for the last-minute postponement of the attorney licensing test this week and for what some say has been poor communication from the Florida Board of Bar Examiners.

About 2,000 bar examinees learned late on Aug. 16 that the one-day online bar exam scheduled for Aug. 19 had been postponed until October due to technical problems with the software platform Florida planned to use. It was the second delay of the exam since July 1, when the court switched from an in-person July exam to an online test in August.
