A partner at  Vienna-based firm Wolf Theiss is seriously ill and hospitalized with the coronavirus, officially known as COVID-19, and three additional employees have tested positive.

In a statement on its website, the firm said that upon learning on Feb. 27 that one of its partners had tested positive for the coronavirus, it began testing all of its employees within 24 hours. On Feb. 28, about 200 employees were tested, and another 80 were tested on March 2, it said.

The Austrian newspaper Die Presse reported that the partner, who is 72, is ill and has been hospitalized.

In a statement, the firm said 200 of its employees received a clean bill of health, while three tested positive without showing signs of the disease. Those three are quarantined in their homes, the firm said. They are currently undergoing a confirmation test.

Wolf Theiss has set up a crisis team and said that only employees who have tested negative are in contact with clients.

The firm could not immediately be reached for comment.
