FINE TIME – So far, fines imposed under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation have been relatively low and infrequent. As Phillip Bantz reports, regulators have imposed about $126 million in total reported fines since the GDPR took effect in May 2018. Still, lawyers are warning clients not to let their guard down, as authorities throughout Europe continue to bolster enforcement efforts and clarify how fines are calculated and imposed.
