In case you haven’t noticed, litigation funding is having a moment.

Profits are soaring, new players are placing stakes and sophisticated litigants are warming up to the idea of taking outside investment, according to a recent industry survey.

So what’s it all mean for law firms, clients and the court system?

On this Legal Speak podcast, Law.com reporter Dan Packel breaks down the nuts and bolts of litigation funding with Scott Mozarsky, regional managing director with funder Vannin Capital.

Mozarsky, who oversees North American business for Vannin, predicts continued growth for litigation funding in the U.S. and overseas. He explains how Vannin selects cases and answers critics who say outside funding leads to more lawsuits and makes it harder to settle cases.
