Law.com's Tony Mauro and Marcia Coyle, veteran reporters of the U.S. Supreme Court, were in the court Thursday for the justices' decisions in the census and partisan gerrymandering cases.
They sat down with editor Mike Scarcella for a brief chat about the justices' rulings, issued on the final day of the term.
Chief Justice John Roberts Jr. played a pivotal role in both cases, and the two decisions offer glimpses of tension on the court. Both rulings will be parsed in the days—and weeks—to come. Here's a quick take from Tony and Marcia from Washington, D.C.
