New York Attorney General Letitia James said her office will use “every legal tool” at its disposal to fight against the national emergency declared by President Donald Trump on Friday to unlock billions of dollars for the construction of a wall along the southern U.S. border.
James said in a statement that Trump’s declaration will put individuals at risk by using funds reserved for emergencies and disasters to build the wall, funding for which has been denied by Congress in recent months during talks over the federal budget.
