Ex-Skadden Partner to Lead U.S. Trade Negotiations With China

President Donald Trump this week tapped U.S. trade representative and former Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom partner Robert Lighthizer as chief negotiator in trade talks with China.

Lighthizer’s appointment follows an agreement reached between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping last week in which the United States agreed to a 90-day pause in raising tariffs on Chinese imports.
