On Sept. 10, 2014, plaintiff Carmen Ruiz, 54, slipped and fell while walking in a hallway at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, in Philadelphia. She asserted that she had slipped on clear liquid, which caused her to fall on a knee and hold onto a wall rail with her right arm. She claimed a right shoulder injury.
