The American Association for Justice’s new president, Elise Sanguinetti, came on board this month right after President Donald Trump nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit for the U.S. Supreme Court.

Sanguinetti, a founding partner of Oakland, California-based Arias Sanguinetti Wang & Torrijos, talked to The National Law Journal about how Kavanaugh, based on his D.C. Circuit opinions, might impact consumers should he be confirmed to the high court. She also discussed Kathy Kraninger, Trump’s nominee for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, who faced a critical confirmation hearing this week, and what’s on the AAJ’s agenda for the coming year.
