The Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY) announced that Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison has been selected to receive the 2018 AABANY Law Firm Diversity Award at the Associations annual dinner on February 28. The award recognizes the firm’s outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion, including the recruitment, retention, development and advancement of women, minorities, and LGBTQ attorneys and its active partnerships with minority bar associations like AABANY. The Association will also be honoring the following individuals with AABNY awards: Mark A. Steffensen, SEVP & General Counsel, HSBC North America Holdings, with a Corporate Leadership Award; Kathy Hirata Chin, Senior Counsel, Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, with the Women’s Leadership Award; Justice Goodwin Liu, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of California, with the Impact Award; and Alphonso B. David, Counsel to the Governor, State of New York, with the Public Service Award.

Albany Law School has announced that Cristine Cioffi, Class of 1978, and the Honorable Joanne Winslow, Class of 1986, will join Emory University School of Law Professor Martha Albertson Fineman in receiving Kate Stoneman Awards at the law school’s annual Kate Stoneman Day on Tuesday, March 27. The Stoneman Awards are presented to individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to actively seeking change and expanding opportunities for women within the legal profession. The awards are presented in honor of Kate Stoneman, the first woman admitted to practice law in New York State and the first female graduate of Albany Law School in 1898.
