New Jersey Senate President Stephen Sweeney has confirmed that there won’t be a ballot referendum this November to bring casino gambling to North Jersey.

Sweeney said in a statement issued on July 14: “I continue to support discussions on the expansion of gaming outside of Atlantic City but, at this point, the time has run out for a ballot referendum for this November. This is an important decision that should be done responsibly and should include a thoughtful public discussion that generates public support.”
