China’s Zhong Lun Law Firm has hired two partners from rival Fangda Partners in Beijing.
Victor Yu, most recently a Shenzhen-based partner at Fangda, joins Zhong Lun as an equity partner. Yu specializes in private equity and venture capital investments in the technology, media, telecom and biotech sectors. Last year, he advised Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi Inc. and software developer Kingsoft Corp. on a $310 million pre-initial public offering investment in video streaming website Xunlei Ltd. In 2012, he also acted for Hong Kong-based private equity firm Pacific Alliance Group Ltd. on a $250 million investment into Chinese drugmaker Bicon Pharmaceutical Holdings Co. Ltd.
