Leaders of 41 legal departments announced on Tuesday that they have boosted diversity efforts enough to receive Mansfield Rule 2.0 certification this year.
The Diversity Lab, an incubator that fosters innovation that boosts inclusion in law, launched the Mansfield Rule in 2017 for law firms and expanded it to legal departments in 2019. It is named for Arabella Mansfield, who became the first female lawyer in the U.S. in 1869.
