Sempra Energy was hit with an environmental lawsuit June 9 in California Superior Court for Los Angeles County accusing the company of releasing 100,000 tons of natural gas from its Aliso Canyon storage facility. The lawsuit, which asserts that the gas leak lasted continuously for four months, was filed by Arias Sanguinetti Wang & Torrijos and the Killino Firm on behalf of a slew of residents of the Porter Ranch area. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 23STCV13219, Bryden v. Southern California Gas Company.
