A North Bergen resident who was injured in a collision with a box truck on the New Jersey Turnpike settled his Middlesex County personal injury suit, Villada v. Cabrera-Reyes, for $2.9 million on June 27.

Jorge Villada, a 56-year-old commercial truck driver, was operating his personal vehicle on Dec. 1, 2017, on the New Jersey Turnpike when he was hit from behind. Andres Cabrera-Reyes, an employee of Fond Du Lac Cold Storage, was transporting roughly 200 cases of wine when the traffic in his path began to slow and stop. Reyes testified that due to the heavy load his truck was carrying, he was unable to brake appropriately, according to Villada’s counsel, Raymond A. Gill of Gill & Chamas in Woodbridge and Gary M. Price of the Law Office of Gary M. Price in Plainfield.
