Acting Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan is set to further examine whether attorney Joe Tacopina is conflicted out of representing former President Donald Trump in his criminal case due to the lawyer’s prior communications with a key witness in the case.

Merchan has directed Tacopina and his firm, Tacopina, Seigel & DeOreo to submit various documents for in camera review—including any emails, correspondence, and notes regarding conversations with Stormy Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford—prior to May 15.
