Two separate U.K. privacy controversies—one involving Google’s collection of data from iPhone users, and the other police surveillance powers—are illustrating that privacy concerns continue to be watched carefully in the United Kingdom.

The Google issue relates to a legal action brought against the company on behalf of iPhone users in Britain who “had their personal information unlawfully collected by Google,” according to a statement from the plaintiffs in the case.
