In an emphatic opinion, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit said the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau engaged in “dramatic abuse” of the discovery process in attempting to sue 18 defendants while refusing to sit for depositions.

Judge Elizabeth L. Branch wrote the majority opinion for the appeals court, issued June 12, affirming the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia’s order requiring the CFPB to comply with Civil Procedure Rule 30(b)(6).
