A federal judge has ordered class members in the $6 billion combat earplug settlement with 3M to beware of a fraudster who has accessed Social Security numbers and other personal information online.

In an Oct. 14 order, U.S. District Judge M. Casey Rodgers, in Florida’s Northern District, said class members had received unsolicited phone calls purportedly from settlement administrator ARCHER Systems, asking for Social Security numbers and dates of birth.
