The nation’s fourth-largest auto dealership group is losing its longtime legal chief. George Villasana will step down in June and retire in March 2025.

Duluth, Georgia-based Asbury Automotive disclosed the news in a securities filing on Friday. Villasana has led its legal department since 2012. He came to Asbury from Swisher Hygiene, a sanitation company, where he was senior vice president and general counsel for two years. Before that, Villasana was general counsel at veterinary hospital chain Pet DRx. He started his in-house career at AutoNation, where he was promoted to senior counsel shortly after joining the then-fledgling car dealership chain.
