Spring has sprung, bigtime, and so have in-house counsel. These past several weeks have been a turbulent time for big tech, big finance, big pharma, bitcoin and the Big Ten.

The Big Gulp: Coca-Cola’s global general counsel, Bradley Gayton, resigned abruptly, after only eight months at the company. Monica Howard Douglas, Coca-Cola’s chief compliance officer and associate general counsel for North America, has stepped into the general counsel chair. Gayton, who joined the Atlanta-based beverage company after nearly 30 years as general counsel at the Ford Motor Co., will continue as a consultant at the Atlanta-based company for a year, receiving a $4 million payment and a monthly payment of $666,666.67 for working no more than 40 hours a week.
