San Jose, California-based Immersion Corp. announced Tuesday it has hired an experienced intellectual property lawyer as its next general counsel.

Immersion announced in a press release that Mike Okada will become general counsel and senior vice president of IP licensing and legal affairs. He will join the company’s executive team and manage the company’s legal, regulatory and intellectual property affairs. According to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, Okada will begin his role as the company’s top lawyer June 10.
