Few technologies have caught law firm attention quite like generative artificial intelligence. The innovation is one of a handful of technologies that have become potent indicators of law firm identity—signaling to clients traits such as innovation, risk-taking or even risk aversion.

This wasn’t always the case, of course. Throughout their history, law firms have hardly been at the forefront of tech adoption. The change, however, came as clients started demanding more efficient, cost-effective services. But not all clients are on the same page with how a law firm should get there.
