David Lowe is managing partner of Rudy, Exelrod, Zieff & Lowe, an employee rights firm with a hand in some sensitive sexual harassment and gender discrimination suits. This month, Lowe settled a high-profile case against Tinder Inc. on behalf of former employee Whitney Wolfe. He wouldn’t disclose any details of the deal, but in general, Lowe said, publicity can be a double-edged sword. In fact, more than half of his firm’s matters never see the light of day. “What we learned was that defendants often appreciated the opportunity to attempt a prelitigation resolution, and we were often able as a result to get a better outcome for our client by affording that opportunity.”
