How can a lawyer miss a third-party claim in a workers’ comp matter? According to one judge, it happens more than you may think.

Tonight at 7 and at 5:30 p.m. Sunday on the Philadelphia CNN-News affiliate WFMZ-TV, The American Law Journal presents, "Serious Work Injury: Third-Party Claims and Maximizing Settlements." Joining host Christopher Naughton are claimant’s attorney George J. Badey III of Badey, Sloan & DiGenova, respondent’s counsel Laurie A. Carroll of Naulty, Scaricamazza & McDevitt and Workers’ Compensation Judge Todd Seelig.

"As we are getting more specialized … there are attorneys who just do workers’ compensation," Seelig said, "and sometimes there are things that are missed. And certainly … you have to look at the entire case. And from a strategic standpoint, where do you want to be potentially with your first lawsuit? Do you want to be in workers’ compensation or do you want to be in your third-party" claim?
