Minneapolis-based Dorsey & Whitney announced Thursday it is opening an office in Dallas with lawyers from Schiff Hardin, which in turn announced Thursday it is closing its Dallas office.

Dorsey & Whitney said that Larry Makel, Stan Mayo, Gina Betts, Jason DuVall and Jamie Grammer Whatley will join the firm as partners. They do mezzanine finance and private equity work, along with other forms of corporate finance, M&A and securities work.
