Harry Hull has served on the Third District since February, so he has not yet developed a track record as an appellate justice. He has just begun issuing published opinions.

Colleagues and lawyers who know him have described him as friendly and intelligent, with a broad knowledge of both criminal and civil law. Fresno Superior Court Judge Dwayne Keyes, who supervised Hull in the Sacramento U.S. attorney's office during the 1970s, described him as "bright, articulate, knowledgeable and . . . a tough prosecutor." At McDonough, Holland & Allen his practice emphasized toxic and hazardous waste law.

The State Bar's Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation rated Hull "well-qualified."
